VSI has been in business since 1984. Current
VSI offices are in Seattle, WA and Tuscaloosa, AL.
VSI has focused on three (3) principal business
areas since its beginning:
1. Process improvement and specialized computing
systems development and implementation.
2. The development of patentable software and associated processes
and methods.
3. Providing high quality people services on behalf of our client's
operations.

Medical and Information Technology
Since 1998, VSI has concentrated on developing
a comprehensive suite of software serving the practice of medicine,
as well as the broader medical industry which serves the practive
of medicine. VSI's now growing suite of such systems represents
the future of the company, and is where VSI is concentrating its
resources. Current production capabilities include 3 systems,
all of which are now patent pending, with 2 more close to launch.
Lean Sigma, BPR, and 6 Sigma
VSI has been concentrating on improving business
processes through the use of process re-engineering, Lean, 6 Sigma
and radical re-engieering in restructuring projects since its
inception in 1984. Before 1987, VSI used a process improvement
technique it developed called QUIC. When the term " re-engineering"
became popular, VSI changed the QUIC name to Preferred Process
Implementation, because that was what we were designing; i.e.,
processes which provided our clients with up to 90% reduction
in cycle time, 1/2 cost or less to operate, and with high quality
products and Customer Satisfaction. Over the past several years,
we have added more Lean Sigma tools and techniques to the VSI
process engineering tool kit as these have become accepted by
our clients.
Teaming
VSI has a long history of aiding clients in developing
team-based organizations. VSI projects have included benchmarking
the status of teaming in organizations around the globe, consulting
on building teams, and team-based business process re-engineering.
VSI helped design a building for Smiths Industries in England
which was literally built around the company's technical, business,
and manufacturing processes and their Integrated Product Teams
(IPT's). This building received the Queen of England's Innovation
Award. VSI is a team focused consulting firm. Call us and order

Systems Development and Package Implementation
PACS is a good example of our large scale integration
capabilities. Modern enterprise PACS utilizes the n-tier architecture
approach. Our prior work with large files, like radiology image
and movie files, in the areas of 3D product design and manufacturing
systems, meant that as we entered this emerging field 7 years
ago, we could learn the differences, but continue with our base
experiences. With people who have CCNT, MCSE, HL7, .NET, and DICOM
qualifications, we are well suited to work in this area. Using
this extensive background in current PACS as a backdrop, VSI has
now developed and placed into production the first dynamic medical
movie study PACS system, MPACS, which is HIPAA compliant and has
portions of the system patent-pending.
Specialized or Vertical Systems Development
As a natural result of our many exposures to various
business and technical situations in our numerous clients, VSI
has developed a knack for spotting the need for specialized computing
systems which fill a niche market not large enough to attract
the large, horizontal developers like Oracle or Microsoft. See
our descriptions of the three systems we have developed recently
which are available for sale or use commercially now, all of which
have patents-pending. Keep coming back to our site; we announce
new developments several times a year.
